Customs Declaration Service (CDS)

Prepare, validate and submit UK customs declarations through FreightCode,
covering standard imports and exports, simplified declarations, and customs warehousing.

What it does

FreightCode supports B1, C1, I1, H1 and H2 declaration workflows, with the required declaration data, parties, commodity information, procedure codes, documents, valuation and authorisation data for each type. Declarations are validated before submission, with HMRC responses, MRNs, errors and status changes kept against the declaration record.

Operational value

Different CDS declaration types can be handled in the same system without splitting import, export, simplified and warehousing work across separate processes. Shared customer and shipment data can be reused where appropriate, while each declaration type keeps its own rules and required data.
