New Computerised Transit System (NCTS)

Create and manage Common Transit movements in FreightCode,
covering the departure and destination messages required to move goods under transit between participating countries.

What it does

FreightCode supports the main NCTS transit workflow, including creation of the transit declaration, submission of the required messages, receipt of the transit MRN and handling of subsequent departure and destination events. The movement record keeps the declaration data, references, responses and current transit status together.

Operational value

Transit can be managed alongside the related customs and border movement instead of as a separate process. Operators can see the transit reference, message history and current state in the same system, reducing repeated handling between CDS, NCTS and GVMS and making it easier to follow a movement from declaration through to release at destination.
